The term ‘precariously employed’ is used to refer to a type of work which is poorly paid, unprotected, and insecure. For some, precarious employment is limited to work that has an element of contingency (e.g., purely commission-based salary or seasonal employment), and for others it is used synonymously with non-standard employment such as part-time and temporary work.
